Chalong Hotels & Resorts

Home to Phuket's luxury boating scene, Chalong isn't the place to come to if you're looking for a typical sun, sand and sea holiday but it is a great place to visit for a number of reasons. Unlike plenty of Phuket's other famed locations the beach here is quite muddy and this is why it attracts boats and yachts because it is easy to moor. The upside to this is the range of boating activities on offer to people who stay on Chalong.

The beach is a perfect departure point for a trip to the nearby Coral Island (Koh Hae) which is so paradisiacal it easily makes up for the lack of swimming available on Chalong. This island is very small with only two beaches but it is fantastic for diving and snorkelling while the natural beauty will keep you captivated. Chartering your own boat is also a possibility for the adventurous and deep sea fishing trips can also be arranged.

Back on the mainland there are Chalong resorts and Chalong hotels that range from luxury to budget. As Phuket's centre for yachting there are inevitably some great bars too where stories from the seas can be exchanged. Ao Chalong Yacht Club is known for its bar but there are other places worth seeking out as well. Restaurants and shops are also a common feature here.
